Entry-level Micropropagation Technician

As a Micropropagation Technician at Plantd, you will be responsible for cultivating and dividing young plants at Plantd's tissue culture laboratory in Oxford, North Carolina. Daily, you will work with a team of passionate technicians to process plant material that will grow into rapidly regenerative feedstock for Plantd's fully-electric factory.

Ag Team Laborer

Stovall, NC

Plantd is hiring responsible individuals for hands-on tasks at our agriculture site in Stovall, NC.

The ideal candidate would have general working knowledge of crop/land management or a great eagerness to learn — which includes tractor operation, equipment maintenance, and greenhouse operations such as transplantation of small seedlings. Must be reliable and self motivated. The position is full-time, hourly rate with a full benefits package.

Manufacturing Technician

The manufacturing specialist at Plantd will assist in building machinery and equipment, finding creative solutions to complex mechanical problems, and contribute to material production efforts as needed. Ideal candidates will have a scrappy, results driven mentality, and will live up to our company motto: Move fast and fix things.

Duties will include welding and metal fabrication, machine servicing and repair, quality control,  and precision machine assembly. You will work collaboratively with engineering to bring novel machines into operation and ensure machines continue to function optimally. 

Mechanical skill is required, must demonstrate welding capability and ability to work with a wide variety of tools. Basic understanding of electronics systems is also a plus.

  • Work with engineers and production staff to assist in building machines to process plant material to produce structural sheet goods for construction.

Harvester

Harlingen, TX

You will be responsible for safely running harvesting equipment in the field, handling and loading harvested material for transport, as well as billeting equipment in the warehouse as needed. Material handling, floating and helping with other shop responsibilities as needed. Driving the company vehicles to pick up orders when needed. Potentially helping other departments within the company when asked. You will work at our Harlingen, Texas facility. Of course, the Company may change your position, duties, and work location from time to time at its discretion.

  • Safely perform numerous tasks related to harvesting of carrizo cane
  • Operate and service a variety of farm machinery and tools
  • Harvest cane at various locations
  • Move harvested material with excavator, trailer and/or tractors from field to warehouse

This role is crucial to ensuring that our operations run smoothly, efficiently, and safely.

This candidate will help build strong motivated warehouse and harvest teams to consistently accomplish operations goals and exceed performance targets. Completing timely and accurate daily logs to keep internal reporting accurate and track materials movements is essential.

Administrative Support Lead

Harlingen, Tx

As an Administrative Support Lead at Plantd, you will work directly with HR and the leadership team to help build that machine that builds machines! You will help staff all parts of the Texas team that will enable Plantd to develop its innovative, industry disrupting technology as well as perform the duties needed to keep that machine running smoothly as time goes on.

You will be the first point of contact for new hires and potential candidates as Plantd further expands its team at our Texas facility. You will help develop the communication lines with our Oxford facility and Texas facility and ensure Texas is following our Plantd policies. 

‍

Furthermore, you will ensure all kitchens and breakrooms are stocked with supplies and drinks for the company, keep all areas clean and organized, and work with contractors and program managers for any/all development projects required to continue Plantd's growth and future success.

Responsibilities

Be main point of contact for new hires

Be on call for new hires if they have questions/issues when they arrive

Schedule on-site interviews for job candidates

Schedule orientation meetings for new hires with designated Plantd team members

Schedule meetings with parties outside of Plantd for Plantd Executives

Set up office equipment/desks and computers as needed

Get groceries/coffee/consumables

Handle incoming/outgoing mail

Any and all other office-related tasks

Assist with company social media post and managing our pages 

Work alongside our PR team to help post about Plantd

Basic Qualifications

Personally invested in long-term mission to move fast and fix how we work with carbon

Thinks fast and adapts to changing conditions

Relevant experience with administrative tasks

Demonstrated experience with executive leadership assistance

Preferred Skills & Experience

2+ years of experience working in an administrative support manager role

Experience with PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and scheduling software

Experience working with engineers and learning technical information about the innovative machines being developed

Speaking technically about Plantd's innovative machines to university students and potential new hires

Hiring for a bilingual applicant,  fluent in English and Spanish
